Yerevan TPP CJSC

Due to the commissioning of this Power Plant it has become possible to secure rapid growth for Armenia’s industry in 1960-1975.

Operation of the Power Plant made possible to significantly reduce quantity of the water discharged from Sevan Lake which allowed     to save this unique natural lake having an essential importance in the aspect of            the region's environmental protection.

We Are Being Reconstructed

By signing of the Loan Agreement ARM-P2 on 29 March 2005 between Government of the Republic of Armenia and Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) a reconstruction of “Yerevan TPP” CJSC was commenced.

New CCPP

Yerevan TPP CJSC constructs a new power plant of combined cycle operation in its adjacent area.

The construction of the new power plant is financed with an ODA Loan of JBIC.

The Loan Agreement between Government of the Republic of Armenia and JBIC was signed on 29 March 2005.

The Project Consultant is TEPSCO Co. Ltd. (Japan) which has a considerable experience of construction of similar power plants both in its home country and outside in foreign countries. It was selected through an international competition in 2006.

The EPC Contractor of the Project is the Consortium of Mitsui Co. Ltd. and GS Engineering & Construction. It was selected in the result of two stages of international competition: Prequalification (PQ) and International Competitive Bidding (ICB) of EPC Contractor. Seven companies participated in the PQ and two companies participated in ICB of the EPC Contractor.

The EPC Contract between Yerevan TPP CJSC and Consortium of Mitsui Co. Ltd. and GS Engineering & Construction was signed on   30 September 2007.

The Contract became effective on                  21 December 2007.

The construction works have been commenced.
